AmeriNZ #20 – Cabbages and Kings

Episode 20 is now available, and it's free no matter where you get it from. You can listen to it or download it through the player at the bottom of the post here, or subscribe for free through iTunes here (you must have the free iTunes player installed). You can also listen to it for free through the player on my MySpace page.
Work is being done at the house today, so I can’t record a regular episode. Instead, I’m posting a chat I had with my friend Jason (his blog is here). We’ve been friends for many years. Is such a long-term friendship as rare as it seems to us? We also talk about moving beyond high school, which is related to us still being friends after all these years. Jason also talks a bit about his travels, especially his trip to New Zealand last year.
Leave a comment, or send an email to me at amerinz[at]yahoo.com. Feel free to comment at Jason's blog, too.

The title for this post is by Lewis Carroll (from Through the Looking-Glass): “The time has come,” the Walrus said / “To talk of many things: / Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax-- / Of cabbages--and kings-- / And why the sea is boiling hot-- / And whether pigs have wings.”

Fun chat with your friend Jason. He's right in my backyard! You guys talked about a lot of things. I've been to my high school reunions before but not sure about the future. Jason is quite the world traveler. I haven't been anywhere compared to him. I'll be checking out his blog some more.

You know, it's so odd. I see SF politicians walking around all the time, and personally, I don't really get that much of a rush. Well, I don't really care about seeing any famous people in general. Although I do think that when I was looking through my latest Maenner magazine, that one of the featured porn stars was someone I saw working out at my gym last week. Oh well. I do think that DC is really fun. Was the safeway mentioned the communist safeway? And who knew "Art" was afraid of heights? When you come to SF we'll have to go out on the bridge, and you and JR can be nervous together. Muhuhuhahahahahahahahauhauhauhauahahahahahaha.

Archerr: I have to admit, the main reason I haven't been to a high school reunion is that the big ones—25 and this year 30—have been while I was living in NZ. But I doubt I would've gone anyway—it just doesn't interest me. I'm not negative toward it, just not interested.

Kalvin: Being a political junkie, I've always been interested in meeting politicians. Here in NZ, that's quite easy to do, too. When we make it to SF, YOU can go out on the bridge if you want; I'm perfectly happy to cower in safety with JR; not sure which Nigel would do, though heights don't generally bother him.
